Akagera National Park lies in Eastern Rwanda, hugging the border with Tanzania. It's characterized by woodland, swamps, low mountains and savannah. The varied terrain shelters wildlife including zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions and hundreds of bird species, such as the rare shoebill stork. In the southern part of the park, vast Lake Ihema is home to hippos and crocodiles.


Day 1

The driver guide picks you up early morning to Akagera Game Lodge, after hotel check in you shall have rest, the lunch will be served at the Lodge. In the afternoon we drive down to the lake to catch up the boat at 3:00PM, the boat ride takes an hour, from the boat ride we go for an evening game drive that will take us to dinner at the Lodge. You will have the chance to see the animals that you cannot see during the day such as leopards, hyenas and lions to mention few.

Day 2

After an early morning breakfast we proceed with the early morning game drive, you will have break off for lunch at Lake Ihema located in the Southern part of the Park also known as home for Hippos and Crocodiles. You shall expect to see the golden view of the lake, Elephants, hippos, Rhinos, Crocodiles, Giraffes and so many mammals as you drive along the shore of the lakes.


The cost for the package is $950 and it includes:

Transportation fee, accommodation at Akagera Game Lodge, Lunch and Dinner at Akagera Game Lodge, Entry fee to the Park, Professional Driver Guide, Emergency Medical Evacuation services, Boat ride fee.

It excludes: Air-tickets, Gifts and Souvenirs, Drinks, cigarettes

 

NOTE: Always remember that the animals are wild animals. Keep your distance. Never get out of your vehicle except at designated points. It is illegal to feed any animal, make excessive noise to attract their attention.
